Description
This unique rooster necklace comes from an ancient applique embroidery design from the Iron Age in 500 BC. Although this particular rooster necklace design comes from the Pazyryk Culture in Russia, the rooster symbol is recognized around the world in many cultures.
Rooster symbol meanings are all about fanning out with brilliance, and showing the world shimmering facets of your personality.
Most cultures embrace it as a solar symbol, a sign of illumination. That is, except for Nordic and Celtic cultures who see it as a messenger of the Underworld!
For other cultures though, it is something to behold…
- Like in China where it represents honesty, as well as physical and moral fortitude;
- Or Japan, where it is considered a sacred symbol and able to run free amongst the Shinto Temples;
- Or Ancient Greece where its morning cry symbolized victory over night and was considered a solar emblem;
- And in Christianity where it has had many meanings, including the watchful vigilance over evil.
Hearing a rooster’s call in our dreams has said to be a metaphorical wake-up call for something we need to do or stop doing.
